Locally, HVARC will participate in activities at the Grant County Fair Crops Building (Exhibition Hall) in Lancaster, WI.

HVARC (Hidden Valleys Amateur Radio Club - Platteville WI) participates in the annual event that takes place on June 22-23 (always the 4th weekend of June) from 1PM Saturday to 1:00 Sunday. Public is welcome.

(from ARRL)
Field Day is ham radio’s open house. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.

Go ahead and edit it and re-build the site to see your changes. You can rebuild the site in many different ways, but the most common way is to run
jekyll serve
, which launches a web server and auto-regenerates your site when a file is updated.

Jekyll requires blog post files to be named according to the following format:

YEAR-MONTH-DAY-title.MARKUP

Where
YEAR
is a four-digit number,
MONTH
and
DAY
are both two-digit numbers, and
MARKUP
is the file extension representing the format used in the file. After that, include the necessary front matter. Take a look at the source for this post to get an idea about how it works.

Jekyll also offers powerful support for code snippets:

def print_hi(name)
