Field Day 2014 Location

Because of the tornado damage to UW-P campus our Field Daysite has been moved to another site on the UW-P campus.  We will be setting up in the parking lot west of Morrow Hall.  This is where we used to set up.  It is next to the softball diamonds on Greenwood Ave.  I,-90.497214,208m/

If you go to where we were last year and take Longhorn Drive north you will run into Greenwood Ave.  If you come down West Main Street and turn left (south) at College Drive you will run into Greenwood Ave (cemetery located here).  Turn right and look for Morrow Hall and softball fields on your right after you pass Glenview Commons on your left.

Remember that we are setting up on Friday around 1:00 PM. Group will meet at noon at Pizza Hut.

If you need more help finding the site give a call on our repeater 146.895 MHz (tone 114.8), or call me at 608-726-0279.

5:00 PM Saturday Club Supper:
Be sure not to miss Alvin’s cooking.  KC9MCC is well known for his Field Day Delights.  He will furnish the main course and you just bring a dish to pass.  The club will furnish the drinks, plates, forks, knives, spoons, and FUN!.

You don’t have to be a licensed ham to help.  You can help with logging, setting up, etc.  It is a fun time.  We talk as much as we work while setting up, making contacts, or eating chow.

Larry KC9CSQ and Paul K9OT are chairpersons and are working hard to make Field Day a success.  If you’ve never been to one you don’t know what you’re missing.  I’ve been going since I was 12 years old.  For me its like the big ball game, or that long awaited fishing trip. I grew up with a family of hams, and It was a family affair. I have very found memories ofField Day.

See you there this weekend,

Kent K9ZMU

Greetings Everyone!

All amateurs and those interested in amateur radio are welcome at club meetings and events.

The Hidden Valleys Amateur Radio Club is a small friendly club located in the hills and valleys of Southwestern Wisconsin. Our members participate in Field Day, Wisconsin QSO parties, local community service activities, and also offer ham licensing classes. Many of us are trained storm spotters, some have CPR, and a few have multiple Red Cross certifications.

Our club meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM in the lower level of the Southwest Health Center in Platteville Wisconsin. We have a weekly Sunday night net meeting at 7:30 PM on the N0WLU repeater on 146.895Mhz 114.8 pl. All check-ins are welcome.
